Allied Waste Transfer Station
BNSF Main tracks looking North. UP enters from the track in the southwest corner (lower left), then immediately crosses over both tracks to its own main line. The Renton Jct is in the middle right, diverging to the southeast. After crossing over the BNSF main just south of this picture, the UP heads North on it own trackage and into Seattle's Argo Yard. UP Interchanges with BNSF at this Jct, here a garbage train is headed to Argo in Seattle while a lone BNSF loco sits waiting to proceed to the Renton Sub. Formerly Black River Jct in the Milwaukee era, BNSF interchanges with UP and its Renton sub at this location. Here a BNSF Boeing train awaits clearance to rejoin the main and proceed to Seattle. Again, awaiting clearance to proceed on the main, this Boeing train has already dropped off its complement of one Boeing 737 fuselage, which was shipped from Wichita, KS to Boeing's Renton Plant. Five trains per day are loaded here and sent to a landfill in Arlington, Oregon. Trains are serviced on the loadout track visible in foreground. Looking east at western end of BNSF's Renton Sub. Service trackage to Allied Waste seen diverging here. Here a southbound BNSF manifest freight cruises through Black River with SD40-2 #7909 in the lead.
